Epic Immersive Studio Transformation

A Space for Creators to Thrive In

Amore360 was asked to create an immersive Dolby Atmos mixing studio located in a basement without windows so artists could feel more relaxed and creative by working surrounded by beautiful environments which we created.

A blank canvas

Using immersive projections and custom-designed immersive Unreal Engine content, we transformed this future 16 channel Dolby Atmos mixing studio into an immersive visual playground for artists, musicians, and technicians to thrive in. Once the projection equipment was installed we turned to creating animated immersive visuals which included a rainforest, Saturn’s rings, flying through a nebula, driving down a desert road, among other static scenes.

Creativity requires a good working environment.

Workspaces that are stark or bland are not good for creative flow, a fact which the owners of Lemontree Studios recognize. This is why they contracted Amore360 to build them an epic immersive Dolby Atmos mixing studio.

Frequently Asked Questions

What problem did you solve?

The problem solved was the fact that these are very small studio spaces that are located in a windowless basement with no natural lighting. Building an immersive projection system creates the illusion of working in whatever environment we create.

How did you source the technology?

Given the limited space for projections we opted to use Ultra Short Throw Projectors that can project a large image from a very short distance, less than two feet for the entire wall. We also needed to use a very small and powerful computer for playback so we opted to use a Mac Studio which has the advantage of having multiple USB-C outputs that can be used for video. For playback we used Resolume VJ software connected to an 8 button MIDI controller.

What were the creative challenges you faced?

One of the biggest challenges was figuring out how to work around the existing Dolby Atmos equipment which includes 16 speakers installed in the walls and on the ceiling. Additionally all of the projection equipment needed to be hidden up in the ceiling which required creative problem solving to achieve.

Can this installation be scaled to other locations?

Yes! This immersive studio design can be scaled up to larger studios, museum, galleries, or event spaces.
